A Mire Hydra turns still water into a maze of false ripples. One head watches, another waits beneath the surface, and a third studies whichever hunter believes they have found the opening.
No two accounts agree on how many heads a mature hydra possesses. The survivors agree only that counting them during the fight is a poor use of time.
